ATCC 51444 Methanothermobacter thermoflexus ,嗜熱彎曲甲烷熱桿菌。
嚴格厭氧古菌，嗜熱桿菌、革蘭氏染色反應陽性，在最適生長條件下（60℃、 pH7.9-8.2、 150 mg/L NaCl）的倍增時間是1.5小時，利用H2/CO2或甲酸鹽生長，基因組GC含量為55 mol%。
